how to replace reversing switch

#1 by dunney , Sun Feb 03, 2013 11:31 pm

any advice appreciated on how to remove and replace the reversing switch on l200 ( year 2000 ) gearbox. I can not get a spanner on it due to position . I think I could get a socket on it if I cut wires but that would not work when fitting new one?
Thanks Dunney

Dunney, I have a socket that I cut a grove into so the wires could come out, either do the same or I can post mine to you if you cover the postage & send it back.

Don't know if mines in the same place but I used a small bendy ratchet spanner for mine.

One step forward???
I have changed the reversing switch (cut a groove in an old sparkplug spanner) and reversing lights work but now green 4 wheel drive light not coming on in either 4 wheel hi or low. I have not touched any other wiring so I wondered if anyone knows why this might happen now?
cheers Dunney
