Hello, firstly I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Woody from Northern Ireland.
I bought my first pickup in April 2019 (my beloved L200) and have been enjoying it immensely.
It was a farm vehicle before I acquired it so it has some “minor” body damage, but honestly that doesn’t bother me. I see it as just needing some tlc.
It’s a K74 2004 Warrior. Pictures will follow once my account is approved.
I use it to rescue stricken cars on a few local beaches and it has more than paid for itself in one summer!
So the issue list goes like this:
1. It pulls to the left when driving at speed.
At first I believed this to be an alignment issue so I had it aligned, and aligned and again aligned but nothing changed. Next I noticed the left rear leaf spring is a little lower than the right (sagging? but undamaged) could this be causing the pulling?
2. The headlight adjustment switch on the dash doesn’t work anymore. Fuse? Or any way to test the little motors?
3. Out of the 5 intermittent wiper speeds (1 being fastest and 5 slowest) 1,3,5 work and 2,4 do not. Just a burnt out connection? A new stalk needed?
4. I can’t seem to enjoy the truck enough! I always want to sit in it and enjoy it more and more!!! Ok this one isn’t an issue but I do love this truck!
5. Lastly I can’t seem to get the diagnostics port to work. I have an OBD2 scanner but I heard they don’t work on pre-2005 trucks? Any truth to that?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Woody
Happy holidays and a happy new year to you all!
Hello bud
mine pulled to one side when I had a broken leaf spring
also when I had a slow puncture
make sure the headlight wheel is actually plugged in
easy for the plug to fall behind the dash and then too much bother to connect it up again
not unheard of to have faulty stalks , but in the past people have said they get hot when they're faulty and on rare occasions start smoking
pre 2006 were not OBD compliant so you'd need a MUT3 machine
there is a how to on here somewhere that let you read the flash codes ......... here it is Read your fault codes
there are a few readers that will work on a K74, @123hotchef @Heathen may be able to recommend one
@Alan G and @mikeinatruck may still have some parts if you are looking for stuff

Number 5 .- completely true, they aren't OBD2. They are MUTIII ( specialist Mitsi diagnostics ) there is a way of reading the codes by bridging pins in the ECU, once you are approved you will be able to see it in the How to section.
Wipers - when in intermittent position 2 or 4 do you hear the relay click on? If so not the switch , possibly the actual motor, just had one on one of my other cars and the little control unit on the motor had given up. You could check power to the motor using a multimeter on all different settings to confirm if power is getting to it
Headlight adjuster - check switch is connected first! Again check if power getting to adjusters first
And its possible that the ' sagging' is causing it to pull to the left a little but could also be camber of the roads causing it...

Thanks for the quick reply guys! I really appreciate it.
Must be the leaf spring causing the pull to the left then as it’s about half an inch lower on that side. Leaf spring isn’t physically broken just seems to be worn out.
I’d thought about the camber in the road but checked it out on a perfectly flat piece of road and it pulled.
No clicking from the stalk when I turn on the 2,4 positions. No noise at all. Didn’t think about it being the motor though. I’ll check that out when I get a chance. No heat or smoke coming from the stalk either.
Does the headlight wheel just pop out or is it a ‘remove the whole dash’ type of job? If it just pops out then I’ll have a look, if not then it’s not important right now.
Might be a silly question but where is the adjuster motor exactly? I did have a look but didn’t know exactly what I’m looking for.
I appreciate the how to guide there too. I’ll have a look at it and see if I can get my scanner to work with it.

Quick update:
I got the headlight adjuster fixed. Was easy to remove lower dash and plug it back in. Some contact cleaner and a little hot glue to keep it in place. Both motors working fine and I seen them adjust.
