I am going to be changing the above Belts at start of next month, but my question is, how long do they really last for ?
I am aware that they are meant to changed @ 54000 miles or five years, which mine has exceeded both @70100 6 and half years old
I have inspected timing belt and there is no sign of cracking etc and it is 100% original belts
At moment I am super paranoid about driving it at moment, but realistically will it be okay until I replace at beginning of next month ?
Cheers
Steve

B40's are 62500 or 5 years aren't they?
I suspect you should be ok untill the beginning of next month ... it is only 2 weeks, i guess it depends how many miles you do ? If you do 100 miles a week , you are only putting a few hundred on , but if 2000 a week , maybe worth getting changed sooner .
Thing to bear in mind is none of us well have an exact definitive answer here, as vehicles are like lotteries. I have seen vehicles with well over 150k and never had a belt change but also seen some snap not fair over the interval change times. Unfortunately only you can judge the risk , as I said I suspect you will be ok , but I wouldn't guarantee that

Yes thats what I thought also, the cambelt I am not to concerned, it is that secondary belt, as I cannot see it :/
Judging by cambelt, its pretty clean, not cracking and not to hard either, I got parts lined up ready for payday end of month and then boom the weekend prior to week all parts arrive its getting done
looking through the manual, it doesn't look to complex to do thankfully lol
I had a rover with K series engine, and that cambelt was cracked like crazy, still drove another 40000 on it, then I scrapped it

Since the belts are over time and distance as a mechanic I would never say it will be ok as in reality we just dont know.
I usually take the radiator out when I do them as I always renew the waterpump and antifreeze at the same time.
All I will say is if your unsure get a good mechanic to do it.

Okay just what I thought, cause it does look tight with rad in
in terms of hours, how many hours roughly does it take you to do one ?
Whats the best anti freeze for these ?
I am doing all the oils anyway so just few extra litres

I can do them in 2 hrs but I have done so many I can do them with my eyes shut.
Red antifreeze.
There is a trim on the fan cowling at the lower edge of the fan that comes off (bin it) take the lower rad hose off at the thermostat and you can lift the rad, cowling and hose out as one.just work the hose round the fan.

Brilliant thank you so much for advice
Won’t that lower cowling affect performance of the cooling if it’s not there though ?
