Hi there,
Turtoise here. 2004 4 Life - think it might be an import as chassis number say built in 2002. Bought it in 2007 and the service manual, since lost said something about the dealer being BV which suggests Holland. of course they might just have been the distributor. Basic truck no anti lock brake of air con.
Had usual red light of doom turbo problems but got used to driving slightly enthusiastically up hills (avoid 3 rd gear!). Since then It's had usual belt changes, regular servicing and a new clutch a couple of years back to get it ready to tow a caravan not much done to it except.
Had it re-mappped to bring HP up from it's meek 115bhp but more importantly to increase the torque. Whilst this does not make it faster the peak torque kicks in about 2000 -2200 revs making towing more comfortable with trip over to Wales up and down the M4 just using 4th and 5th.
Still haven't replaced the turbo but the red light seems to be at bay. Used as my works vehicle so goes across fields occassionally but not used off road in other respects.
Usually get repairs done with the local garage but with time on my hands at the moment, perhaps like many of us, have decided to amuse myself by getting to know the oily bits and check over the body work over the next few weeks.
Front end off this week, wise as there is rust taking hold ( the rest has been waxed regularly but not the panels infront of the radiator). If confidence allows may take out the radiator and oil cooler and treat the whole area with ann industrial zinc based paint (recommended by the nice people at my go to paint shop - well not go to at the moment obviously - I phone them ask their advice, they deliver it disinfected and leave it on the doorstep).
So not sure what I can add to the forums in the way of knowledge but really good to be back amongst the L200 experts, and enthusiasts. Local Mitsi dealers are not interested in older trucks. they never return call for parts enquiries.
So let the fun begin. THanks for letting me in. Turtoise

Hi all,
Bonehead here just joined the forum. I have just bought a L200 2012 model Browning version which I will be using for work when we are allowed to get back to it. I’m hoping to fit an inverter in the rear truck box with a couple of leisure batteries to power it, this was fitted in my old Terrano. Using a couple of leisure batteries so as not to use the main starter battery as I have done before and finding trying to push a loaded Terrano to bump start is very hard work.
I’m in the Midlands in Warwickshire but as I have only had the L200 less than a week and we are on lockdown haven’t been out in it much so far (only done about 20 miles driving home) but looking forward to being able to get out in it soon.
Thanks for letting me into the forum,
Regards,
Bonehead

Hi All , Bought a 14 plate trojan double cab long bed a year ago.. I purchased so I could tow a horse box. Actually love the truck, always had Audi's before venturing into this type of vehicle. I live in Scotland , West Coast in a town called Largs, I work as a chef, currently on furlough. Thanks for the add.
