Hi all, finally finished fabricating and fitting a winch bumper to the old pram, few more mods needed to complete (lights etc) which is why I want to check the legality of bumpers (bit late i know) I've read through some old posts which suggest winch bumper ok, however, I want to fit an A frame to the top of it. Would it then be part of the bumper? Or just an over the top, illegal number plate holder? Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

Pretty sure A bars etc need to have "e" mark stamped on them to be legal.

I would check with your Ins company, if the worst was to happen you may have no cover.

@Nick, thanks for link, after reading notes on .gov site, i believe I'm not committing an offence fitting it. It has been made as a bolt on addition so its easily removed. My insurance are aware of winch fitted within a steel winch bumper and increased premium by about £150. Has anybody else had any issues from the boys and girls in blue or insurance claim issues after an accident. Intrigued now, more comments welcome.
