This is the 5d carbon vinyl and its awesome stuff and quite easy to work with .
Bonnets are quite tough though do to curving in all directions lol

Is the fuel flap the same stuff ? Just in a different light ?

The fuel flap is 5d also but from a different supplier and has a slightly different pattern .

Quieter all round
More comfortable .
I am Definately glad I got it . I was a tough decision as I loved the classic one I had and don't regret a day of ownership . But this is just a totally different animal .

And it's slowly getting personalised to my taste . I'm hoping to make a few one off carbon parts for it as I have a mate with a nicely set up garage for carbon production .

I used halfords truck bed liner spray. As long as prep the metal properly they it's very hard wearing. Mines been on around 6 months now and whilst I don't actually stand on the steps myself there isn't a single chip to the finish from General road use.

Did my classic steps in the dark, cold damp night. no primer minimal prep and turned out geat.
been jet washed off roaded and I step on them daily as I'm short.
Holding up well I used one can as the other can on the shelf had been used (told the guy it's Still there now months on )
I'd use two cans for a few more coats as I kinda ran out, and would have liked more coats.
Had the odd stone chip on and I was in a rush so sprayed over the rubber strip and it's wearing on the rubber strip that's about it.
Still looks great it's a lumpy paint so its hard to get a bad finish tbh.

I used one can on each side and did about 2 or 3 coats I think. I removed the end caps and rubber strip before but to be honest you can just mask them off it you want. I roughed the surface up first with some wire wool and then sprayed directly on.
