Oliver's building mess.

#1 by Mallinman , Mon Jun 13, 2016 7:21 pm

Going to start this thread off now. Should be starting this project at the end of this week.
Getting a little van this week hopefully for a run around and I've got an engine I'm goanna pick up at the weekend so hopefully I can get cracked on with the engine swap. Il put loads of picks up as I'm goin. And il try and keep a list of all the parts and fab work drawings so others can give it a go if they get bored.

New and old!
New one looks smaller cos I've taken 90% of the stuff off it to ease movement.

Gearbox steam cleaned and split now. Makes it easier to move about for the alignment. Needed it out anyway to heli coil some holes up top as the the threads had stripped and it was leaking oil.

All cut out ready to trace out on the 12mm steel plate.

I can drill all the holes to match it to the engine and get it bolted up now. Just got a mate to turn me up an adapter on the lathe so I can perfectly align up the lay shaft to the crankshaft. Will save me hours faffing around with a dial gauge aligning it up. Then I can drill the holes in the adapter and get it all done.

Il email them to you if u give me ur address
I wanted the 606 but it just won't fit without massive alterations to the front and probably a rear mounted radiater. Couldn't be arsed with all that.
