The new shape ones are a substantial piece of kit, and look good, the bolts at the top nearest the door are a pig to get to unless you have wee skinny hands.
Did the old one come off in 1 piece or did you use the snorkel removal tree branch from Navman industries

Or nuke it with UV and brush it away...

Are they many holes showing from the previous snorkel Raj ?

Nah none of them are showing (there were only 4 small ones and a 64mm one (one of the main reasons i wanted this snorkel was because the inlets are huge!!! more free air to engine)

GB At one point the lads on the other forum said that the Fibreglass one would break if it had any sort of force to it, but i got to say no matter how much i abused the old one it didint break!!! (could be down to the extra layers of FG i had put on it) but still there were some doubters out there

Caramac wheel aka stripe removal wheel should do the job without the need for chemicals

I use this stuff on plumbing, works very quick and easy but you can get some from any plumbers merchants, doesent do any damage.:

After spending the whole of last week trying to get the silicon off and failing i managed to damage the paint quite abit (i tried everything mentioned above but nothing seemed to work!!!) I spoke to mate of mine and he told me to try a body shop in Bham called "ndovu motors ltd"so i called them up on Saturday telling them what happened and i had the photoshoot etc, they told me to bring it in on Monday, so took it in in the morning and theyve fixed it all up also told them about the old snorkel holes so they took the new one off filled out the old holes and repainted the wing and a pillar!!!! Even though they had a warehouse full of cars to repair they did mine asap and i just got home after picking it..... well chuffed that its done before the photoshoot ))

So if anyone is in the midlands area needs work done i deffo recommend them, they get loads of trader cars to work on and insurance jobs, and it family owned business which is always a plus IMO

They also took some pics for me

Il get a finished pic in the morning

Good stuff mate, have you had the roof fixed yet?

I miss the job satisfaction from the old painting game, be strange when you see the mag, it'll look as if you've changed the snorkel half way through the day

Looks great SO what happened here then? I thought you had a photo shoot and they just needed to do the article? Or do they want some nice and clean shots?

Photo guy turned up just as i finished putting the winch in, all works well, but i disconnected it to put in an isolator switch. Saw some of the photos and they turned out pretty good, i took some of the shoot as well.

He mostly did feature shots of the extras on the truck, so had to remove the wheel to show brake disks etc

and best of all after all the hacking and bending the bumer has gone back to its original place showing the winch slightly

Brilliant Glad he turned up! The truck looks just that little bit more ready for business with the new snorkel and winch too
