Hi all,
The front bench seat in my 1991 L200 is pretty knackered. I personally am not a big fan of bench seats so would like to go for a pair of separate front seats out of something else.
I remember reading on another forum that someone had used Subaru seats, but they didn't say what year or model those seats came out of (I've tried to sign up for that forum about a week ago and am still waiting for my membership to be activated). I'd be quite keen on Subaru seats, provided they fit without modification, they're meant to be quite comfortable and they're reasonably priced.
In New Zealand, the seats pretty much have to bolt into the factory mounting holes, otherwise you have to pay for low volume vehicle certification (Section 4.2, page 52):

Has anyone performed a seat replacement on the same generation L200 as mine?
Any info will be very much appreciated.

All is possible, depends on how much you wanna "make it fit." Personally i found the easiest way for my seat swap was to remove the old factory fitted seat runners, make up a couple of adaption mounts then mig the whole lot to the new seats i wanted in there. ( K74 Warrior ones )
Regarding the laws you have to comply with there, i would be wanting to find out if they find this method acceptable, as im pretty sure you're gonna have issues finding a direct bolt in replacement seat.

I did the same as Spud. K74 seats with a tiny bit of cutting and welding to the mounts. You could size up a similar aged pajero/montero/shogun. They have a LOT of similar features and it wouldn't surprise me if the floorpan and hence seat mounting holes were the same

I had aftermarket corbeau buckets in mine. I used flat bar to mate them to the existing seat frames. Had a fairly high seating position but i found it ok.

If there are you could do what I did with my first truck and use the runners off the paj seats, and mate them to a pair of bucket seats - worked well with no welding...
