Hi guys-
A bit of a long story, but reckoned my suction control valve was goosed to tried to get it off the fuel pump, bolt rounded so fuel pump needed to come out, along with all belts etc. Now it won't start? Cranking ok, was meticulous about setting timing marks on timing belt- followed manual to the book. Primed fuel pump and suspect it could be air in system- any ideas?
Cheers

Think that's the next step- can I get an injector off without needing to take off the inlet manifold?

Have you read the codes at all? The new shape need both the cam and crank sensor signals to align to start, is it possible you've knocked one out of position? When mine wouldn't start it was one of the teeth for the crank sensor broken off the crank pulley.

No codes, didn't touch the crank shaft sensor but going to see if fuel is going to the injector and if not then I guess I strip it all back down and check the timing again- joy!!!

Ok then, stripped off inlet manifold and cracked off injectors, fuel going to all of them. Re-set timing belt as I reckon it was a tooth out, all back together and still doesn't start!!!
Any more ideas?

Update- just had a lovely guy come and relieve me of my pennies to say that my fuel pump is probably knackered- really poor reading on fuel pressure- he said it should be about 8bar and currently at less than 0.5! From reading the manual, it seems as though once you've fitted a new fuel pump, the you need a mut iii computer to get it to re-learn the pump. Anyone know if this is needed? Will i still not run if this isn't done? If I replace the pump, as low my as I can get it running, I can take to garage and they can reset it? Thanks

try running it from a fresh can of fuel it could be a blocked pic up in the bottom of the tank

Could this be an immobiliser issue, not sure about L200's but some immobilisers shut the fuel pump down.

Have tried running from fresh fuel. Don't think it's an immobiliser issue as the pump is still pumping, just at a vastly reduced rate. Think the (new to me) part is duff too. Have ordered a new one through a contact. Called Mitsubishi for a price- guess how much they wanted?
