Good morning all, where do I start with my 04 L200! Bubbling rad, so removed head (pre bought a fully assembled Milners one to just drop on). Front head bolt snapped off and seized into head. Drill out remove head and find yes; head is cracked. Start to clean up block and oh goody.. No 3 liner is burnt away on the top lip.
OK, after much swearing and threats of burning etc I've dug deep and hooked up with a new block too. Now these are my questions to you experts and old timers.. The new block has two differences 1) the oil baffle plate from the old block won't fit in the new block, (only the two holes for the oil pick up are in there. Do I need this baffle?
2) there is what looks like a breather take off just behind the oil filter housing that I will need to blank off as my old engine has this already cast over. Will that be ok?
Cheers people, any advice gratefully received.
1) The new long engine didnt have any fixings for the baffle either, theres no great need for it so i left mine off.
2) Duno cant recall that on mine? @123hotchef

Thank you very much for the quick reply. I ended up drilling and tapping a couple of bolt holes and getting it in there. 👍🏼
R u sure that is a breather behind the oil filter

I think so, I think it was something from the earlier engines. Maybe a breather or an oil return. Either way she's all blanked off now ready for action. 👍🏼
Could have been a oil return not seen it before if it was a breather id be inclined to let it breath though
