Ok guys. Started a new thread here so that people know what content is in it. As some will know I am having custom wide arches made, around 4 inches, for the classic. I was asked what the arches would be like off road, how durable they are. So I have asked that question to Jo over on Elite4x4 and below is the email he sent back to me.
"The arches are durable yer they will be thick enough to be strong but not too thick that they are too ridged. The reason bushwacker arches are so durable is because they dont go back on them self under towards the inner wing. This gives them a lot of flex but not so good for show trucks.
Here is some vids of me messing around with the arches, they are not weak but if you hit a tree in them its probs not gunna do a lot of good to them lol. Forgive the random sounds of us pissing around.

you can see that they are flexy but around the edge they are strong, thats because they go back on them self. if they were cut off there they would be very flexible but then you have to start having loads of bolt holes to hold them onto the wing of the truck. The ones i plan to make first will bolt on underneath like the originals.
cheers"
- He had explained this to me before but not with videos. What I am getting from this is that Bushwackers are more durable off road but you will have to pay Bushwacker money and then retro fit them as there are no L200 specific ones. Expect these to retail around the £200 mark. (ps the ones you see in the videos are Hilux arches)
