Hi people, How many valves are there on the high pressure pump? im i correct in thinking there is just one which is the suction control valve?
The reason i ask is that my truck keeps going into limp mode on idle, A mechanic said it was the control valve on the high pressure pump.
He charged me 250 quid to fit a new one but the problem is still there..after advice on here to check the Suction control valve and a bit of youtube
watching i discoverd where it was on the engine...this part definatly isnt new..i took it off stripped it down and cleaned it using very fine wet and dry,
now the truck is running fine (At present)...its looking like ive been shafted by the mechanic.
