Leak behind rear seat in New shape crebcab

#1 by leerob695 , Fri Jun 22, 2012 10:10 pm

I have just taken my spare coat out of my truck from behind the rear seat (the fold down one) and it is wet Im thinking it might be be the window leaking ?? but i will have to take the plastic trim to have a look in daylight
there seems to be some moisture on the floor at first i thought it could be condensation but i think it is something more sinister
Now IS there a common faliure point on these trucks or is it just a case that i have been unlucky with it

Thanks in advance

Hi Leerob

I'm just repeating rumours here, rather than having first hand experience, but I believe the upper seal on the rear window is a potential leak spot.

Someone more learned will be along shortly to tell you the remedy!

Not had any trouble with mine but I have seen others complain about it. It can only be the rear window seal or rear door seals, hopefully someone will have fixed it before, happens to classics too.

check this thread mate, Leaking rear window 2006 Warrior , also I think if you check Warrior 06 - Blueoffroader400's picture gallery, you'll see how much he took out to get to his leak

Hi All

Im new to this forum but ive had this leak and repaired it myself. Its from a poor design and its the rear cover strip that is fitted over the rear window, the ends of this strip finish behind the rear windows so when the rain gets in behind it it acts as a gutter and sends the water in behind the rear quater windows and into the rear seating area.
Best thing is to remove the 2 quater windows and the cover strip over the rear window clean all parts and bead in sealant when replacing.
A quick fix maybe to pump sealant in where the 2 parts meet but this is no a defo fix.
