Thanks for the pm Danne. I had to do some brackets today and took a couple of pics for you to try and show what your aiming for mate. Just play with wire speed and amp setting and you will get welds like this.

Very nice indeed, I think I am not welding often enough to get my welding to look like that in a while

And now my truck is alive again after about 15 hours in the garage over 8 days, but there was a good bit of cleaning and rust protecting too.

Done much to the truck the last month and got some more to do but this is what I have done so far:

Electric fan, did not work so well so I have bought a expensive SPAL one from the US that I hope will arrive soon.

Did a button panel for the fan control and some other stuff.
Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

Made a heavy duty skid plate for the bumper, it is made of 5 mm steel so its very heavy.

Made a pair of rock/tree sliders of 5 mm steel tubes, you can lift the truck with the hi lift on them. Welded to the frame.

And last, the ball joint spacers, put 10 mm on each side.

And now it needed 6 mm more spacers for the camber angle, I removed the Mitsu original one.

Left to do is a rear shackle experiment that I will tell you more about when I get my new shackles from WSO.

I also planning on making a flat bed of it but that is not near in the future

Thanks guys.
The skidplate was to heavy to lift so I made a bunch of holes in it so I could even get it in place

Living in the middle of the forest have some advantages, I can spread out very much and I got space in the garage if it starts to rain.

Thanks

Do anybody ever seen a flatbeded L200 classic?
Should need a pic or two for inspiration.

Found these on other trucks so you get the idea.

If I only go straight forward its no problem but if I turn the wheel more then a 180 degrees there is a slight kadonk and the truck stops

Need some spacers.

What's the plan to stop the rubbing? Will spacers do the trick do you think?

Yes I think so, the rub the inside on the steering box. Or I will have to adjust the steering stop but Rely don't want just one turn on the wheel.

Think you'll need to lose the mudflaps Danne, my 265 75 16 catch sometimes with spacers fitted so I'd think they would, nice tyres though, not cheap over here so must be a second mortgage in Sweden going by the price of everything else you've bought locally

The arches and mudflaps will go.
I bought the tyres from Poland but they still cost me about £820 in total.

Nice, what mods did you have to make to the arches in the end? Other than removin the plastic and mudflaps
