I am picking up my 2006 Animal B40 model on Sunday. I have HPI checked it and everything seems fine but need some advice please.

Where do I find the VIN plate and the stamped chassis number.

What are the most important things to look for over and above normal vehicle purchasing from a private buyer for the L200 specifically.

not that long ago I looked over a barbarian for a mate of mine who was buying it
things I checked for were
damage underneath from off roading
damage to tailgate
panel gaps that may indicate repairs
chips in the windscreen
locking wheel nut tool present
even wear on tyres
excessive wear on drivers seat and steering wheel
all 5 windows go up and down smoothly
service history especially when the cam belt was done last
air con blows cold
all settings work on the heater controls

then when I took it out I ......
threw it round a couple of roundabouts to listen for any clunking from suspension
accelerated and decelerated in all gears
used the 4H on tarmac
found some gravel to try 4L with centre diff locked
made sure it didn't overheat (some early new shapes had issues)
made sure it didn't pull left or right when braking

vin plates are at the top of the bulkhead on each side in the top corners

Thank you, it had a new cylinder head, belts etc about 2 years ago, £3k bill in the service history so hopefully that's a major issue sorted. It has done 97k miles in total.
