Hello all - awaiting registration so excuse the guest status...
I have what seems to be a fairly common issue, but i can't quite diagnose the exact causation.
Turbo actuator doesn't move over to top screw at idle.
Can manually actuate the rod with no stiction by hand.
Can manually actuate the rod by sucking the pipe prior to diaphragm.
No suction felt on end of metal hardline (front of engine) when idling.
Strong suction into solenoid from tee, and if plumbed directly into hardline (bypassing solenoid) will actuate the turbo rod, meaning no blockage/vac leak.
Fitted brand new solenoid from Milners.
Voltage checked the pins of the plug, reading around battery voltage on one pin vs ground, and nothing on the other vs ground (Which i guess i correct...?)
There is no CEL.
Now... here is the rub gentlemen: it works fine first thing in the morning and on the drive to work. It will not work thereafter for the rest of the day.
Point of note, the EGR has been removed.. does the remaining plug need a resistor fitting or anything..?
[wtf]
Cheers!
er have u checked the boost sensor

Good morning, that was next on my list, the vac hose to it is ok, so it'll be a case of electrically checking the sensor.
Do you know any resistance values or anything to look for?
Cheers
Really struggling to understand this one.
Yet again, worked fine this morning all the way into work (1hour drive), checked under the bonnet when i arrived and it was sat on the top screw at idle.
Turned the car off, on again and it just sits on the bottom screw thereafter......
