Is this a common fault?? If so, wish I’d known before I bought it!! The synchro has failed between 2nd and 3rd gear on my 2017 Barbarian and the garage says it’ll be WEEKS before the parts come in as they’re on back order from Mitsubishi!! They say it’s dtiveabke but I’m not taking any risks so it’s staying in the garage until they fix it. I bought it as an ex demo with 7k on the clock and now I wish I hadn’t. I’ve done 10k in it with lots of motorway stuff and am not heavy footed. I’m not happy 😢

i have heard of a few going that way not sure if it is common common! but it should not happen! just mitsi using shite parts again probably

Its been a common problem for a while on the Series 4 L200s
Looks like they have failed to solve it on the Series 5s as well.

How long you had it? you may be able to claim not fit for purpose and get your money back , or if through finance , let finance company know, as they may well reject it for you or at least push Mitsi along in fixing it, as why should you pay for it if its broken

I got it in January as an ex demo. It’s a company vehicle and as far as we are concerned, it’s a warranty job......

Well, the garage now tell me that they won't even be getting the parts for another 3 weeks ... or so! What is the problem with Mitsubishi??? Why can't they stick these things on a plane and get them over there??!!!

I would definitely be having words with the garage
if the parts are on 'back order' there is no guarantee when they'll be turning up (might be 6 months)
I'd be agreeing with them a fixed date that I'd either get my fixed truck back or my money back and I'd be wanting it in writing too.

I’m now in contact with Mitsubishi Head Office over this and waiting for another reply. Thing is, it was bought from a different Mitsubishi dealer. This is just the local Mitsubishi garage doing the repairs. I haven’t yet involved the one we bought it from.

Result. Head Office has confirmed the parts will be delivered to the dealer nearly next week. The kind of Customer Service I like to see !
