4wd light flashing

#1 by Adaml200 ( Guest ) , Mon Sep 10, 2018 7:22 pm

Not been on here in a while and can’t remeber my login so il just post in here, I’ve got the age old 4wd light flashing on and off now and then and sometimes when I let off nd roll to a stop I can hear a grinding/whiring noise coming from what sounds like right underneath me, if I select 4wd all is fine it engages and comes out fine etc etc, been underneath earlier and the actuator is working in and out, what should I try? from google it seems it’s either not holding pressure or dodgey solonoids not bothered about the light really but it’s the noise that’s concerning me,any help would be great

You say the actuator is moving freely? I had the same sound, I think , you slowly come to a stop , then a clunk , the hello flashy 4x4 light. Liberally sprayed actuator with wd40 and after a few days ( and second application ) it went away. From what I believe it will do no harm as 4x4 is a Mechanical engagement on K 74s
