dash question

#1 by dazmanf , Tue Feb 12, 2013 11:22 pm

Thought I'd ask before dismantling the centre of the dash.
Anyone that's done a dash rebuild or fault find, is it possible to drop the heating dial section down by 7" or s? Currently watching a reverse camera kit and thinking of building the screen into the console.
Thanks
Darren

Stick it down the bottom, by the gear levers in the cubby hole.............. or just buy the camera, have a single DIN flip out screen here

From what I can remember, the whole dash comes out and leaves the heater controls in a bracket. Would imagine this could be modded but could be a long and tricky job to get it to look right

Thought it would be a boxy set up requiring a mod frame to be constructed.

Lez was thinking for asthetics and using it as a constant visual as the rear view causes a bum blind spot sometimes. Down by the gear stick would be the best location, though I figured for driving glances, the top of the dash would be better for this.

Just glutten for punishment

I've seen those, pretty sweet, would probably have done this but as I'm moving the stereo head unit the the headliner, its leaving a gap and I want to fill it as well as removing the ash/coin drawer etc

we've discussed a shogun sport replacement dash before - that has the double din built in.

Can't remember if we decided if it was do-able though.

Billy I know if it is poss I will have to cut and make a new support for the heating controls section but is this section movable, by going down 7", still haven't looked as I was making the roof box thing am jig. ( modifying tech term )
