My Satnav is a Garmin 7200. I bought it as it has a huge 7" screen (and 7 inches is something most people can only dream of). It's discontinued by Garmin but they can still be bought from stock.
Specs are here
It is kinda big - designed for trucks and RV's - which is an American Motorhome.
I hate wires and clutter so I had to fit it somewhere neat.
I chose above the mirror. Some wasted space. I had to trim the edges of the sunvisors, but that was no big drama.
I then fitted an AMPS mount, like this -
And the Satnav just clips in (and out should I need to remove it)
One of the main features is, it has an AV input so I can connect a reversing camera to it. Again I went for the neat unobtrusive option, and after many hours with a drill and a file, it ended up here -
The only downside is, being high up in the roof it has no clear view of satelites. So I rigged up an external ariel. You can see it here mounted to the rollbar.
So that's my Satnav fitted.

Safari-equipe.co.uk (cant link as i'm on my phone).
I did a fair bit of research and went for that one as it's one of the lightest and reasonably priced, for a roof tent.
All the posh ones use marine ply for a base. That one uses some sort of composit type material.
Rooftents are superb. All your bedding and stuff stays in it and when your done fold it in half and zip the cover around it. A couple of mins to put up and the same to put away.
