hey chaps, got a question for you, when i bought the truck a couple years back, I had pulsing brakes on the fronts, swapped them out for new mitsi discs and pads, once again they are pulsing, tbh they started pulsing shortly after they were changed, I'm not going to say they are def warped (although they could be), but does anybody else get this? if so what have you done to sort it? don't want to keep throwing money at new discs and pads every sodding year! what discs are you all using? I don't drive the thing hard so its not like they are getting silly hot to get warped.

Does it have ABS? maybe a fault in that system somewhere?

You can get a similar feeling if it's an auto and the box is being silly and not lifting up when you're braking.

Interesting, it's another avenue to look at, I don't think it is though as you can feel the bind for that fraction of a second just before you have properly stopped if you are lightly applying the brakes (if that makes sense)

The other operation could be a slipping clutch or play in the plate. When you say bind, is it more of a you don't think its stopping as quickly/slight surge? Or is it a locking up feeling?
I'm getting ahead of myself again. You said it went away after a previous pad change, which would also have a bleed operation... Have you tried bleeding the brakes as a fault finder?

yeah it went away for a short time, and it's stopping fine, its not struggling to stop, the bind is just the same feeling you would get from a buckled rim on a bike with rim brakes and the buckle goes through the pad, its the best explanation I can think of. Its not trying to push on and fight against the brakes. Haven't bled the brakes yet.

And it's only when you brake? nothing at all when you're driving the rest of the time? Alignment, balance on wheels etc.

yeah just when braking, as i say it does it at very slow speed as well as normal so don't think balance would be affected at that speed? alignment was done when i had it as had a new rack fitted, and tyres don't seem to wearing oddly? when i'm next down my parents i'm going to get the wheels off and have a look at the surface myself to see if there is anything obvious, also will use a torque wrench to do up the nuts just on the odd chance they have been torqued up differently as have had the wheels redone and rebooted since the new discs, and we all know they just wang the nuts on with a gun..

no idea tbh, since moving house i got rid of all my tools, so will ask mechanic to give them a thorough going over if there isn't anything obvious.
