I think my alternator has failed. The dash voltmeter shows 12 gradually reducing with use whereas it used to show 14 with the engine running.
I’ve put a multimeter between the output post on the alternator & earth which is showing zero volts with the engine running.
Strange thing is there is no battery light coming on on dash, there should be one according to the owners book. I’ve not owned it very long so not sure if I’ve ever seen it in, it doesn’t come on when you turn the ignition on before starting.
Is there anything else to test before replacing the alternator?
Thanks

Assuming nothing silly like belts broken. then I would check the slip ring brushes. These wear over time and eventually give up. They are generally easy and cheap to change but may need the alternator off the truck. This, as I found out, is not that easy as there is the vacuum pump fitted to the back of the body with all its various pluming.
