2004 k74 I have the dreaded err on the external temperature readout in the binnacle.. Tried a coue of sensors and ohms tested them see to be pretty close to range so should give some sort of reading

Swapped the binacle too

So what's between the sensor and the binnacle that could be faulty.. Is there anything or is it a straight through wire I can continuity test to the plug?

I was hoping a change of sensor would do the trick.. Nothing is that simple with me

So this site is already paying dividends found the wiring diagrams.. Someone had plugged it into the wrong socket... Numpty previous owner now working after buying 2 sensors and a binicle 🤦‍♂️
