I'll check that one out. It rings a bell from my old plastering site I had. I was thinking of a host site to link to 'Myspace' or another freebie site.

Must admit knowing the limitations I experienced tonight fills me with hope and all your good wishes too!!

I've sourced what I can do well I think. It all started with a Captain America image I sketched 20+ yrs ago; I'm going to sketch again and spray up etc.
The guitar thing will most likely just be 'Space-scapes' and maybe some 'pop-art'. If I can sell one or two a month its a holiday or something for my efforts.

I reckon if you hit on a idea you're comfortable with you should explore it if only for the satisfaction of doing it. We all have our 'thing'.

Im a spanner when it comes to cars!!

I know where you're coming from Daz, me too! My back doesn't get any better. I still enjoy it and only do a few jobs a month now. I've purposely wound it down and purposely ventured into new ground for that reason, the 'back! Pleasure and giving new ideas a go keep me happy. The 'other' job I have sat down all day doesn't help the back issue either, can't win..

I rendered a gable end last year with a friend mixing, started at 08:00am, left 10:40pm. That circular motion with the float has left me permanently dizzy for life. That was a killer!!

In another thread I asked your thoughts on wheel spacer's. In the end I decided on 30mm 'Bulldogs'

I rung Mitsubishi (Preston) for torque settings, they said factory standard is 120nm.

Looking good Dave,

Any problems fitting them and did you get them off ebay?

On my list of things to do next time home.

Thanks Ed! No, no issues other than the tyres catching on the front spoiler which I shave approximately a inch off.

Here is a before:

1st one on, back one not:

Overall it felt a wider ride initially but I have soon got used to it so it feels normal already. Cornering feels better particularly on sharp bends, better handling slightly.. as its dry I cannot comment on 'in wet' conditions.

A easy upgrade and beefier looking.

I've added some more pics in the 'Picture gallery' in 'Dave1968's ride'.

Front lights are next!!

Happy days!!!

Hopefully I'm back on track with jobs on the car and back to he original mod that started this thread with, the tailgate.

The weather has been anything but ideal from 08:30 this morning until now. Many hiccups covered up on the next job. So hot it is that the spray paint had only 20 seconds if that for me to play with.

On paper it is easier as its a smaller area.

Here is paper draft:

I'm going to let it set overnight but a sneak preview

another from another angle:

As you will see in the paper draft there is a star behind the moon. It was just not happening today as the air in the can was too inconsistent as was my patience after a while.

I intend to hook it back up to the truck tomorrow and airbrush perhaps some texture on Earth (swirls of the sea) and star with a couple of shooting stars.

What do you think, does the Earth need anything else in your opinion or leave as is?

Appreciate your feedback!

Thanks

Thanks for the input Colin. I couldn't achieve the effect I wanted on Earth as stated above but its kinda growing on me.

This is what inspired me:

I can still play once its attached back to the truck and apply paint as and when if necessary. That said its no really biggy to take it off again.

Ha..yeah, most likely would've been. I saw you one Friday afternoon just as we passed, the sign gave it away coming down knowle Hill.

Thanks, the spacers give it a different feel, a better one that soon becomes the norm.

The tailgate happened then didn't. I lost a lot of pics off photobucket transferring a lot to different albums but I have some left.

[img][/img]

On a black truck I think it would've worked well but I have a different idea now that didn't look right, black on grey/silver approach. The paint dried too quickly even though the background was glossy which is ideal. The Earth lost its textured effect and became too blurred, the glow was good and then I decided to make it better...bad idea. Lessons learned for the final go.
Perhaps some cool weather will help!

I will get on track with it!!

Thanks all for your kind comments. I feel inspired!! On a silver truck it just didn't look right. There were some additional shooting stars which would've added interest.

I haven't got one with the Earth but here with just the moon and no gloss lacquer:

[img][/img]

I still have some ideas I'd like to try but first I will respray in natural 'chromatic silver' Mitsubishi tell me. I am thinking perhaps a landscape in black and grey with a 'Twister' and guitar theme. Nothing too obvious but something effective to sell some products.

Maybe a space theme on the roof. It'll have to be with a airbrush next time.

Thanks again!!
