Next came the masking everything up,
Then this bad boy got used in anger, GULP! Never been so nervous in me life!
All marked up and once the holes were cut came the test fit.
Did find that the holes in the pattern supplied do not match anywhere near.
Fitted the studs to the snorkel and tested it for fit again and to mark the support bracket on the post.
Bit of adjustment and its ready for the rivets.
Next time must remember to remove the masking tape before riveting the plate on, DOH!
Everything fitted and tightened up, then for the inside.
Refitted the Apollo induction kit with self sealing rubber tape and moved the bracket slightly to help with fitting.

Discovered this afternoon that the winch bumper is going to take a little longer than I thought due to the new folding crane I bought not working.
Back to Machine Mart tomorrow for some oil and a few other bits, then I can use the crane to support the bumper whilst I fit it.
Also cleared the garage ready for working on the truck, only one problem, garage aint tall enough for the truck to fit in the door.

Think you may have to remove the wee mudflaps at the bottom of the front arches too. Mine scrubbed a fair bit on them

Well, busy couple of days sorting things out to fit the winch bumper!
Sorted the folding crane, just needed some oil! Bit surprised as it was brand spanking new!
Then the grinder and welder came out to play.
Pics are of the two brackets for fitting the bumper to the truck.
Both needed extending and a few problems sorting out.
One had been pulled out of shape and the other one was in a worse state!
Ground the bent parts out and welded together with the 10mm flat bar that is being used for extending the brackets.
Brackets are now fitted to the bumper and rather than reuse the crap captive nuts, used stainless bolts and lock nuts.
All I've got to do now is fit the bumper to the truck and drill the holes for the brackets to bolt to the chassis.
More updates to follow and more pics.

Winch Bumper is now fitted!
However, getting the normal bumper off was a right pain in the aris!
Most of the bolts sheared off and have now been removed. Most of the bolts I put back in were stainless.
First pic is of the garage just as I was starting. Second one is some of the bolts that sheared.
I like the water mark half way up the rad in this one!
Next came a few hours playing with the grinder and drill to get the brackets aligned correctly

After the couple of hours, the bumper was offered up to the car to check the fit, folding crane was very usefull as it was only me doing the work.
The lights and winch have not been wired up as I need to make some alterations before wiring.
Next came the bolting in place and discovered that the required bolts should be M10x1.25 thread and not the 1.5 thread, need to order the correct bolts now.
Took the truck for a test drive and found that the front end felt a bit bouncy and soggy! Torsion bars!
All that said and done, fitted the new wheels and spacers, adjusted the torsion bars and took her for another spin around the block.
No adjustment left on the bars and still catching the bodywork on full right lock.
Truck as she is now.
