I only took 2 of the injectors down as my theory being if they are both duff then the other 2 will be as well.

Yea i had a look at that Daz unfortunately i dont have any vacuum or pressure testing gear. I think i need to get the pump timing checked before i stump up another load of cash on injectors because from what i have read white smoke is a sign of pump timing problems

Wenn Sie hier auf Links zu eBay klicken und einen Kauf tätigen, kann dies dazu führen, dass diese Website eine Provision erhält.

It's called a pre-stroke measuring adapter and dial indicator. Now the kit could probably be found on ebay Werbung: HERE OR a good toolmaker with a small lathe can easily make a measuring adapter ,dial indicators are easily found.(My dad did my adapter in the lathe).See what make your injector pump is Bosch Or Zexel.I should think the Zexel thread in the rear of the pump will be the same as the Bosch.

could i just move the pump to get an idea and then get the adapter to set it up properly ? I think to advance it i need to move it towards the cam. At the minute it isn't even trying to fire but will run albeit with a miss if i give it a sniff of "start ya bastard " Plus after spending a grand on it i am all up for quick fixes at the minute, lol

It is the adapter that screws into the fuel pump Rob.

Mine has been aquired by one of our jolly fine Royal Mail delivery operators ... whilst it was on it's way to Alan G..
Bart, you could just slacken the pump and turn it all the way around on the 'slides' and then see what it starts like.

Three bolts at the rear of the pump and there is also a carrier bracket that you'll have to remove / release..... have to crack the injector pipes at the rear of the pump too and then nip them back up to try it..

he's wrong

There are 2 12mm nuts which clamp the pump to the engine, 1 each side & they are a bit of a bugger to get to, there as Lez says a mounting plate underneath the pump at the back, again 2 x 12mm bolts.

I will say that if you manage to get to the nuts at the front dont take them off just slacken them as they are a nightmare to get back on.
