I fitted a catch can about a year ago, I emptied it out a month ago it was about half full, all that was going to go back through the engine, no wonder they carbon up so much, YAK.

Just a thought Lee, put steel wool in the can it stops any oil splashing up into the pipe going back to the inlet on the engine.

so is this catch can malarkey the next big thing for classics then ? will it be up there alongside "have you changed the fuel filter" and "get rid of the EGR and cooler" ?

I've had my catch can on for a while now and the amount of oil it catches is not huge but enough to notice, the oil is thick and gooey if it stops carbonisation in the engine and bunging up the inter cooler it's worth it for the money they cost.
