At KORC you me and Alex need to come up with a design for an axle under Spring conversion

I'm in with that too mate, sick of scraping the buggers - guess main problems are needing a longer prop and rotating diff to square on to it.

No need for longer prop etc, just back to original shackles, the axle remains at normal height but the body lifts to the height long shackles would give. The design needs too lock the axle into position using the nipple on the Spring to stop it sliding and also have a pin to attach the shock which would also be original length @Heathen
It's a common conversion on jeeps just we don't have off the shelf kit for these dinosaurs

@Major Malfunction

read this from the main man there

Hi Lee,

Thanks for your email and extra information.

For the last 3 years, Winchmax have been the number one seller of winches for recovery in the UK.

It is worth pointing out that Winchmax are the original orange winch, they have a worldwide reputation as a first class winch manufacturer with resellers and stockists in many different countries. Winchmax winches are all fully load tested before dispatch and now come with a limited life time warranty for mechanical parts and 3 years for electrical (this is better than any other winch manufacturer) – Winchmax are in the process of updating their website and other media, but this new warranty will apply to an winch bought since May 2017, this shows the confidence they have in their winches.

All parts are available off the shelf for all Winchmax winches and also all legacy winches, if you damage your winch and need a part the next day – tis would be no problem.

With regards to Rhino, it is best not to comment on other brands, I have just tried to find website for them, but can find nothing – maybe just an eBay seller?

Most Synthetic rope winches will be £100+ more than the wire rope version, depending on the spec of the rope used. It is true you can buy cheaper rope, Winchmax uses Dyneema SK75 Armourlite Grey (11mm) as standard on its 13,500lb winches – as a separate item this is £149.95.

Hi Lee,

Thanks for your reply, I am pleased to hear that you will spread the word, Winchmax don’t advertise in the conventional way in an effort to pass the saving on to their customers.

You are welcome to buy from eBay, if you buy direct (if paying by card over the phone we need to send to the registered address of the card) I can offer a £10-£15 discount depending on which winch you buy (our saving from not using Pay Pal). I hope this helps.

Please call our office on 01986 899254 if you prefer to talk to us directly.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Many thanks,

Peter.
