Have you checked all the pipes going into the air filter? on the defender TD5 one of them has a plastic grid in it that can get clogged up

Fitted another inner track rod at KORC
but this weekend I fitted a new steeering idler pics of bent one to follow
I have also taken off the arch flares to assess the rust issue new wings might be on the cards at some point
I also removed the plastic lining in the front wheel arches they seem to hold the crap and speed up the rusting I will remove the rears in the week too.
All the arch flare brackets broke due to rust I will make some new ones from ali most probably

Still in two minds whether to fit my arch flares or not - they do seem to speed up the rust, and I'd have to cut holes to fit them them too. It would also limit the narrower places I can get to in Wales/Cornwall and not sure if I'd fit in the garage back home either... Do you know any aftermarket replacement for the weather strips that go between the flare and the wing? mitsi ones are silly money.
