Not taken that way at all bud. Info is helpful. But so far it's comfirmed what I've figured out myself. Proof will be in the pudding.

Hope it's jam roly poly and custard. I love that.

Bit more sorted on truck. Rewelded radiator brackets so I can now run a bigger desiel radiator. All cooling pipes modified and fitted. Traced wires in original wiring loom for fuel pump (mine was a petrol so had pump in tank already). Changed mountings for twin cooling fans (they was mounted between rad and engine and are now on front of rad). Fitted gearbox oil cooler. Now got a new list of parts I need to order. More bloody money lol

At least you don't have to buy a couple of CATS now.

Got a bit done today. Started on custom fuse box and ecu mount. Also got engine to spin over on starter mounter which was bloody frightening and a good feeling at the same time.
A few pictures of the bits I started with

Also wired up to battery. Can not see it properly but new positive wiring for starter motor also two 100amp feeds into cab. One switched and one permanent. The cab feeds start on a 300amp cable running into a 250amp mega fuse then split into two 110amp cables which both feed a 100amp 10way fuses box. These are a bit of a over kill for the engine swap but can now run CB, interior lights plus if I'm doing it I may as well furture proof any power supply I may need in future. Also run new engine bay earth leads as I cut through it with angle grinder lol

Got fuse board/ECU mount finished today. It might want making pretty and a few wires reroute get before its all bolted together but that can come once it's up and running and I know it works. I've added two led one so I now I've got power from ECU and one for check engine light. The two switches that are taped together are just temporary ones to power it up and the other push button is to turn starter motor over. These will be replaced by ignition switch but I may put long leads on them for know just so I can start and stop the engine remotely for when I'm checking stuff in engine bay that way I can start and stop it whilst I'm looking at the engine.

A few pictures. Like I said it needs a bit of tidying up but it will do the job.

Only a few bits sorted today because it would not stop raining and it was cold.
1. Remote oil filter finished with braided hoses cut and new oil filter fitted
2. Fuel lines installed. Even tho these maybe swapped out for braided from filter
3. Oil pressure gauge fitted where altimeter was. Not sure if it will stay here long term.
4. Measured up for power steering hoses.
5. Started replacing all old vacuum hoses for blue silicone.
There's a lot of jobs what seems to be for now but with me doing this a a very tight budget. Some of the jobs have been over kill and I the things I am buying are not cheap, but if I can use old parts and make things "do" to get it running I will. Because it's a long term project and I'm building it for me I can buy new and better parts when it's road legal.
Only picture

paul take all those gauges out if you need a place for other gauges

do u really need a massive temp gauge for outside temp like that? and the volt meter u could get a nice pair of square ones maybe

Because I don't now where my final build will end up I'm only cutting out what I know is going to go forever. I totally agree with daft temp gauge but not sure what to replace that with..

Twin volt gauges, oil pressure and oil tempature. Fuel gauge and one for boost gauge because it's going to end up turbo/super charged. Reason with gauges is the l200 dash will not work with build so it all needs to be replaced really.

What year is your engine Paul? I was doing some reading up about boosting past few days.

You've got the bigger stronger rods then. Which means you can boost it up to 12psi safely. I got the series 2 engine which had lighter cons rods and increased compression ratio. More power from stock but the rods are weaker and can only handle 7psi.

Been quite a while since I updated this thread so update to where I am.
The bit what pissed me off and caused me to waste a hell of a lot of time was a knackered ecu. It latterly wasted weeks of my days off tracing wiring and connections to finally admit the ecu was goosed. That put me well behind where I wanted to be.
So now for the progress I've have made since side lining the wiring. Major plus is moving into my own workshop so now at least I'm warm and dry and working on a nice flat workshop floor so no more working on the drive way in the cold.
New engine mounts

Stripped all front axle/suspension out and started mocking up mounts for axle swap. I've worked out steering and front brakes. Need to order a few parts to finalise where it will all sit together one thing that really has come apparent today is that it's going to be big and that the 285/75/16 are just not going to be big enough!!!!!
