Sprint boosters , all they do is shorten the length of movement of the throttle movement. Makes it appear more responsive. Your accellerator function runs on 5volt maximum and cannot be increased. You cant make electrons move faster all you can do is shorten the distance your potentionmeter has to travel to reachits maximum 5v output.
It does appear to be a meatier engine - but as said by Devil its all in your head.

My sport button on my astra sri does this, all it does is ' sharper' throttle response, i proved this to a mate with my foot holding the revs at 3000rpm we pushed the button and the revs incresed to 4000 when de-pressed they droped back down to 3000. Also while driving on the motorway the same holding it at 70mph push the button and it increased to around 85 IIRC, just a way to increase fuel consumption, very much like a heavy footed person no actual difference in engine perfomance. The only thing the sport button did do for me was stuffen the suspension and loose the Stability and traction control to make for a fun drive.

Er...... he's saying the chip box cannot be reprogrammed or your vehicle ECU cannot be re programmed? If he's talking about the ECU then he's wrong. Those boxes just plug in. There's an online how to somewhere. If he's saying the chip box cannot be reprogrammed - while that's irrelevanant as THAT is what's doing the reprogramming to you ECU.

It doesn't have to. The Ralliart box contains the performance engine map that makes your truck go faster. You plug it into your ECU and job done. It over rides the engine map in your ECU and your truck now runs with more boost and fuel mixture at certain rev ranges.

Bit concerned that it's for a new shape. They have 16 valve and common rail. Your is a classic isn't it? The mapping for a new shape may be very different.

AH, great. It will work a treat then. If it doesn't quite work as well as you were hoping then you may need to get your injection system over hauled.

i,m pretty sure thats a dealers con the only thing they can really specify is manual or auto via a software flash as they do upgrade the software from time to time and not always with good results

You've got the right box. Just saying SOMETIMES people report that it doesn't make much difference. If so It's not the box it's your truck. They rely on your injection system being able to give the extra fuel asked of it. If you have clogged injectors etc then it won't work as well as hoped. But, your vehicle is fairly new so I would expect all will be fine. Just being devils advocate. For warned is for armed.
