So the job has been started, removed the cylinder head tonight. Back tomorrow to strip the head/clean & replace all the seals & relap the valves. Strip off the sump & remove the pistons so I can replace the piston rings & big end shells. Also replacing the waterpump & stat.

I'm gonna be busy

It was using water, not bad for 141k so decided to do the head gasket before it blew, thought I might as well renew the piston rings while I am doing it as I need to change the sump anyway.

Cyl head all stripped an cleaned, valves re-ground in, valve stem oil seals renewed, sump off & 2sets of piston rings & big ends done. I will do the other 2 tomorrow then start to rebuild.

I did Kieran. The bloody top rad hose was leaking at the engine due to the metal housing being badly pitted.
