Looking forward to seeing them on the truck.

Question, do cable throttle trucks over boost like fbw's?

they are bolt on - there is nothing to support the bracket whereas when fitted, they will have the chassis rail to bite on, and will be much stronger - my view on these is that I don`t go rock crawling , and as its my day work car , I`ll never go crazy (lol) offroad , so they`ll mostly be for appearance, rather than bouncing off rocks, specially after ma bj spacers are on

my point exactly raj! and he bellied out on some rocks in 'the zone' and had to winch himself off them! lol

Geoff, did you get the sliders with the extra bits on top?

Yes mate, i think peoples perceptions of offroading must be different - one mans offroading is another's drive round a tesco car park on a sunday lol :-):-)

today I took my Treeboa supplied actuator to my pet garage and me and the owner went through the vac system, put on the replacement actuator , which didn`t feel that much different , however ...... then did a smoke test, and imagine my surprise when the smoke came pouring out of the wastegate actuator solenoid . Ignition on and off and it came out of the 4x4 solenoid too - I learned a lot this afternoon. Anyway - after a few minutes of oily smoke going through said wategate solenoid, the leak stopped - much scratching of heads, and then took it up the road for a spin - OMG its never gone that well, turbo spooling up beautifully, on up to 3500 revs and pulling like a train - well chuffed - also the O-ring on the pipe into the stat housing has been losing me all my coolant. spotted and sorted. So a very productive afternoon. pricing a new solenoid for future replacement if necessary.

Basil which replacement actuator did you use? Was it the eBay sourced one or different source and what kind of cost.(is this the solution to your other post?)

Nice one Geoff, and a part supplied by club member, saved a big bill there.

it was one that my favourite lunatic vegatable juice maniac sent me. The best thing about this (and lets face it, most good forums) is the willingness of each to help another. I suggest to everyone with a classic who has issues with turbo shit , to do a smoke test and if possible , be there to watch - it teaches you what the vac system does (if you don`t know like me), also, we would never have known the solenoid was leaking without seeing the smoke pouring oot.

Sorry just noticed actuator supplied by Treeboa , I take it that the info earlier( mitsi) about actuator being married up to the Turbo is not true. Thus if purchasing the right actuator it should be ok

as long as the turbo is from a similar engined vehicle - this one is fine, the techies may well castigate me for doing it but it went straight on , no adjustment needed (lucky, methinks) happy days

Well done.Basically if u need an actuator you may pick up a srappy replacement from same engine or source a new one for your engine which must be available somewhere.

new ones can be got from china, via ebay (of course) for £35, get the smoke test done as well though. curious mix of electric solenoids operated by vacuum (or is it the other way round?)

its a mad looking machine that looks like a big paint pot under a smaller one, with tubes coming out. Its a pressure vessel thats creates and then pushes smoke through the airways and/or vacuum system of your engine, to help spot leaks that you`d never see otherwise - I`ve not seen one before but it was excellent - it comes with a bright light that is shone on the engine components you want to check, and if its leaking, instant giveaway!

Bloody hell - some good advertising, there, Geoff - won't be many people who won't be able to say "you know - that forestry guy with the black and orange truck"

When does the classic go?
