I'm thinking of buying a single din stereo with an LCD screen....

Like this one, less to go wrong than a motorized screen I reckon.

Fitted the 2" lift kit today, finally. It actually turned out to be a lot simpler than I thought it would be, the fitting of the extended brake lines yesterday was the worst part of the whole thing, they actually took longer than the body lift itself.
I followed the 'How to' and '2" body lift' threads (Thanks Stormforce,Stick,Lez) and all went well. The only pipe that I need to replace is the flexi one that runs from the Brake booster along the bulkhead to a metal pipe below the intercooler, (anyone know what that is?), it was just slightly too short, the rest however all managed to take the 2" lift.
All i have to do now is sort out my gear levers, I currently have the whole centre console out, gives it a bit of a 'redneck' look, the gear lever once you uncover it is massive, not too sure how to go about bending that, it's about an inch thick! I also have to raise the winch bumper mounts up 2" then I can finally fit the 285/75/16 STTs I've had in the garage for about 6 months

One thing I would change if I did it again would be not to do it in the middle of winter, my hands have been like blocks of ice for 2 days in a row, and it increases the pain 10 fold when the ratchet slips and you gouge your knuckles

with the gear levers cut a small V and then bend them and get them welded.I will be getting mine done next week
I haven't done any of me extended brake lines yet but will get them done soon though.Should have the shims for adjusting the camber with the ball joint spacers fitted so that will be the complete lift done

Can the gear lever come off? or is the cutting and bending done in place?

once the rubber gaitors are removed you should be able to undo i think 4 bolts and remove the levers from the g/box and trans box

Rich, make sure you take some pics when you take the lever out etc and where to cut/weld as I will be doing the same eventually. I have heard a horror story about the "fork" moving and going the "wrong side" of some sort of "selector" in the gearbox. This might be total b@ll@x but just thought I'd mention it.

you could then add the lever mod to the end of your lift instructions
