I have front ( sump)
Middle transfer box and gearbox
Rear back of gearbox and half of prop shaft

just done a few bits to the truck new led head lamp bulbs, loaded the tub for the weekend, checked the oil and topped up the p/s fluid filled the wash bottle filled the back seats

don't trust it mate, top hose leaking like a sieve and horrendous clunk on front got worse since we caught up last!It only went in for the shock change as well!!

well just got in changed the track rods inner and outer both sides

poxy milners nuts are shite

changed the top ball joints both sides

and changed the steering idler as it had play

track rods were well and truely fooked

need to get it tracked now i may try the string method unless u guys have another diy way of doing it

I usually measure the amount of threads visible on the track rod before I strip it apart and put it back together to the same measurement and its usually about right. Obviously its not exactly tracking gauge accurate but its worked in the past on my truck and HGVs I've done.

I'm on my second milners steering idler to. No doubt it'll be the 3rd soon. Can you send the steering idler to? I'm going to have a look at making a better replacement or strip the old one and seeing if I can uprate the internals

yes I usually measure them like that too, this time I laied them on some cardboard still joint up as a pair and marked the lengths then set the new ones to that hopefully it will be about right too.

No problem I can send you the idler too @alex200
The milners idler has a grease nipple in it this time so it may last longer

well trucks all back together now drives and feels great

did the tracking my self with string pretty pleased with the out come steering wheel is actually straight now too

looked at front bumper ready to take off, then mixed cement for footings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tracked down the squeeking, it is the bloody water pump! so next job is to strip it down do all the belts and pump might as well change the coolant flush it through and stick in a new stat. it has not been touched for 5 or 6 years
