thinking about it Tek may have a point , a speaker wire earthing out to the body work, stereo , stereo cage , or even the other speaker wire can be enough to stop a stereo working. Quickest test is to pull the speaker wire connections off the back of the stereo and see if its still a case of ' lights on and nobody home ' ... ( sounds a bit like chef lol! )

Hmm , I'd be worried you are going to fry something if you already have an 80 amp fuse blowing! Think you need to find what the 80 amp fuse is actually supplying, as if that supllies your ecu or other micro circuited component , think with a 100amp fuse you can kiss it goodbye!

it is the main incoming feed from alternator it supplies the whole fuse box! anyway the new alternators are mostly 90amp if 90amps are drawn it will blow a 80amp fuse

yeah but i'd still be worried something else is going to get fried. Have you checked the actual wiring? Maybe you've got a chaffed wire thats earthing out and causing the fuse to blow

yeh checked loads of wires lol! I just got a new clamp on meter that can measure DC amps so I will get testing just to see what the alternator is outputting

i have done a few bits in the last month, fitted the cranked upper arms agin after fitting new bushes in them, re did the camber and tweaked the front up a bit more, new top ball joints clad in new poly boots too, new outer rose joints and adjusters coupled with new bolts and missalingment spacers its all tight again now

so today i smashed all the good bits I put on at the start of the month
smashed both cvs outer the inners maybe ok both track rods both sides idler and pitman arm
next weekend is going to be a busy one!
