Well hopefully the quick spool turbo kit should ease the torque on instead of boost kicking in hard and forcing torque on fast. This what I'm hoping anyway.

Got the adapter plate cut out and drilled today so it's all bolted up tight to the engine. Also threaded the holes for the starter motor to bolt to it. Otherwise you would have to take the gearbox off just to change the starter. I just drilled the threads thru on the starter so it bolts in from the engine side now. It also puts 2 extra studs to hold the engine to the adapter. Just need my adapter bush now so I can get the gearbox onto it.

how much are the tuned pumps for these things? and what size turbo you looking at?
been looking into it and the lumps are cheap, mind so are the cars now.
wondering how cheap this can be done for partwise.
alot of the lumps or cars ive seen for sale are the autos, was yours manual or auto ?

Just had to use the dial gauge to get dead centre to take up account for play in the lay shaft. There was one 1.3mm of movement each way. The bush centred it and held it really well.

Just had to pack in for the night tho cos I don't have a 14mm drill bit. Got a bloody 13.5mm but no 14.

I've just paid £1047 for one from dueselmeiken in Sweden. Life time warranty tho. Mine was an auto. The lumps are cheap. You can put a manual lift pump out of an old om602 engine if you want but they only have 5.5mm elements. The tuned pumps are just those pumps rebuilt with bigger elements and special bits. It's only the pump and new flywheel clutch combo that are the real dear parts.

Not sure on the turbo yet. Most use a hx40 but they won't spool quick enough for me. Maybe a Borg Warner s200 or a holset 35 combo build.

It's from machine mart but it's exactly the same as lidl ones I think. Bout £60 but they're very good for the money.
