Deeply dissapinted to have to report that my bumper has been deffered until next friday due to a number of factors.

I changed the design and added a receiver tube the dimensions of which require a part to be sourced.
I am unavailable for fittings any other day than friday at present, so next opportunity is friday.
The shop ran out of gas for the welder this morning and can't get a replacement bottle till monday.

In other news I got my '99 VFR 800 fi (in black) delivered yesterday and she is tucked up under her cover in the garage next to my better halfs ER6N.

cheers

Malky

I can see a colour trend with all your vehicles there bud. Those wingracks cost a bomb these days, my missus used to like my old bikes when I had the luggage on as she reckoned it was like being sat in an armchair. I notice you've got the touring screen on there too. The screen was the first thing I changed on the Busa as it makes a hell of a difference to riding comfort (In my opinion), having said that , it could be cause I'm a large target for wind resistance

Now wrap it back up in the garage and don't bring it back out till it's sunny and dry

For me, I think, this is why my truck has an easy life as I dont feel the need to go fast in it when there's something purpose built to do that with

Hello,

Update so far.

Rear winch bumper will now be mid jan due to cock ups with a couple of bits of machinery and my not being available to pick it up until then once i go back to work.

However - the changes continue I have now fitted a mitsi original armadillo cover - however the cover plate end trim pieces were missing so it looks pretty tatty at present trying to find a firm online that has some in stock only ones i have found are out of stock till mid jan.

***if anyone see's a roll over bar going begging keep me in mind as the cover plate is already cut for the roll over bars.***

Will post pics of the new cover once it drys here - so expect anytime after june.

cheers

Malky

Yup not cheap was £600 all in with the shackles from the states and the correctly sized receiver for the tow hitch. two test fittings and they put it on with a couple of bolts to get me home rather than just lobbing it in the tub.

It was done by PLD smiddy in Inverness - great bunch of guys very friendly, capable fabricators and welders, always willing to help or work with you if you want to change things, really good guys hard working crew can't rate them enough really happy with the service as well as the end product and I know if i need something done changed or tweaked they will do it for me no probs.

Benefit is I also now have exact measurements for all components - turns out that i was 4mm out in two pieces, frickin amature eh?

winch by may i think - just rock sliders and underbody protection and It's finished.........or I have to buy myself a new house......

Ok, after considering the rear bumper fitting I have decide I need to lift the truck 50mm. the departure angle has been reduced more than I had expected....but hey its something for me to do eh?

Wise move Malky it would just have been a big muck scraper, the tow bars at bad enough even on lifted trucks

I likes that... I always think a rear winch has to be better than a front winch.

I'd have been tempted to see if they could do the chequer plate on one side on a hinge so it could be used for storage for mucky ropes/strops/gloves etc....
