One side temp patched up. Very tight and not nice working on ye back, didn't even lift truck off ground, just a quick bodge for now, will be redone properly.

but trying to weld on rotten steel ain't easy not happy had to bodge it 😞 but need it running. One thing I will say after 4 months it started first turn 😊
Sorted and cheched all lights so just give it a clean in the morning and hope it passes after dinner.

that is old! i got a new well new to me inverter a few weeks back oh they are much better than the old buzz boxes

New mig is inverter so can stick weld if I don't want to use or run out of gas

I don't Tig weld, but if I'm right scratch tig means you have to keep the tip in the material you are welding and the tungsten tip gets contaminated, not the best for Tig.
Lift tig you start scratch then you lift out the material and you have an arc.
Any welders out there please correct if I'm wrong.

Ok, so got through MOT, 1st step done, got one runnin vehicle at moment. Need to order a few bits and still some welding but have to take fuel tank down.

got one of those arc? can't get used to it. like you had from early 80's still in box in shed, gave up!!


did have warrior, but crossed over to disco 2.
Thought I could see light at the end of the tunnel, but it was somebody with a torch bringing more work!

@123hotchef chassis behind the tank, but will be looking at lifting the tank as per the body lift in future the higher the better.

Good idea to lift the tank mate I like the idea but also like the idea of easy acess to the top of it. I want to get some sheet steel and make a guard up just bolt it to the chassis

If it's like mine it will last forever, it's been through a lot but still going strong and get some decent welds out of it..

Went work with truck last night (60mile round trip on motorways) runs fine but apart the rumble of the mud tyres I need new bearings at front can hear them, already tightened them up a few times so time for new ones, and some shocks, and some bushes, and some....and more and more lol.
