After getting stuck down to the axles a while ago decided to strip out my old diff - the lock has been broken for far too long now. I'd already spent the princely sum of £26 for an entire rear axle, but as it was rusted to hell on the outside, I just swapped over the diff carrier - thanks to @Major Malfunction for the how to on that one. It was from a pre FBW truck and as I found out today there is a difference - thankfully only the flange that attaches to the prop - bit of a bugger to change that when it's installed in the truck already cos you hadn't noticed before The only problem now is the damn switch isn't working tested the whole lot out of the truck but must have broken it when I put it in I guess - just have to live with it cos I ain't taking it out again for a while - solved the problem though got diff-lock and no more clunking when changing gear. The old one had a tiny pin-hole in the rubber air tube inside the diff (silly design) - oil had then got into the actuator mechanism, which it doesn't seem to like.

Hmm, lately I 'installed' fog lights covers.. and while waiting for some fogs to arrive to put 'em in, went out and bought some angel eyes to fit in there.

And today, decided to try & cover the lights with perforated film mesh. So far, happy how it turned out.
Some of the pics....

Oh, and removed old wide bull bar, and installed 3.5 x 2.5 inch square metal bar just under those fog lights, which is removed at the moment.. in progress of adding A bar over it.

Work in progress...

Close up..

looks a nice bit of fabrication , but one question if you dont mind me asking , what about the safety side , that would mangle anything it came into contact with , and i thought they were clamping down on bull bars and the likes

Yeah, I know... I thought about it for some time..
There used to be a wide/wrap around bull-bar on it, so getting hit by it aint much different than this.. And when you look at old MK1 Pajeros & similar, they have a much bigger piece of metal as a bumper, so I said, what the heck..and went and made this.

So far, so good.. We'll see what the future brings. Got a MOT in about a month or so...

Oh, while we're on the subject, what do you guys think of this?

I'm trying to find an A-bar to put on as well, to 'complete' the wanted look, + adding some ~1 inch tube fog light "guards" (outlined red on the picture bellow) ...
Yay or nay / too much?

New slide pins fitted to both front calipers ( seized again ) , also got out the grease gun and did all the ball joints ,stearing joints and propshaft . Prop centre bearing rubber is collapsing so a quick bodge on that 🤦‍♂️, mot is due in a couple of weeks so a general look to see what's broken and falling off
