should come out without doing all that

Turbo, out last night without the need to take manifold off . Back end solid as a rock full of soot and oil, front end free to move. New unit should arrive tomorrow. Anyone think of a reason for turbo to give out that bad that quick?

Yes mate, a right mess less than 20 mile from engine management light to total failure. Making me think it may have been buggered for a bit before total failure.

Just worried in case anything else may have gone at the same time?

Check the turbo oil pressure before u install the new one bud. If the spindle has snapped it usually means it seized. Either something hitting one set of blades or lack of oil causing the bearing to seize. Usually the case anyway. I suppose it could just be shaft fatigue but it's not that common. Check oil feed blockage 2. Not trying to put a downer on anything here but would hate to see you put a new turbo on and have the the same problem again. Is ur turbo water cooled??

Check oil return for blockage 2. Also very important.

Cleaning oil ways before assembly, along with oil change. Yes turbo is watercolled and checked blockage in the pipes as well. New turbo sat at post office to pick up in the morning, so hope it's a dry day tomorrow.

Truck went in for its mot this morning, passed without any advice notices but it was mentioned that the front panel could do with a bit of attention before it gets worse. 😀

it never rains but pours. Now the sun is out went out to finish putting truck back together, down side now got to deal with two sneered studs, EGR exhaust side, got to get them out as not even enough to just blank it off. 😭😁

Mind you oil flow is good to the turbo so will be quickly up and running once I get the studs out and replaced.

took my rear roll bar apart today and threaded a wiring loom inside the tubing so the loom comes out between the rear bed and the cab ready to run along the chassis
wiring at the top will then feed inside again of the spot light bar I bought
I'll bung some pics up when I've eventually finished it

Killed the engine, again. 5 mins down the road, over heat. Popped bonnet to see bits of timing belt sticking out of the front cover. Thinking it time to scrap the poor thing, more money pouring into her than the bank at the moment. What do people think I should do?
