Got the MOT retest passed with no advisories. Renewed the back shoes, cylinders and drums - all pretty manky but hadn't even noticed a problem with them!

New alternator fitted today after the other one crapped itself, easy replacement with a 2 inch lift as it slipped out between the chassis and body into the wheel well , the bad bit was when the oil pressure switch extension got hit and snapped off in the filter housing 😲, managed to get it out with a torx bit and no damage to the housing 😀, the dodgy wire on the abs sensor has also been soldered so hopefully no more intermittent abs light 😀

snapping that aint good mate glad it was a easy out, should be as they aint tight just tappered, i have thought about fitting a flexi to that too but you can get pressure drop and no flow to sensors

you paid £115 for glow plugs!? they should be about 10-15 each, coming out at 40-60 for a set, at the most!

I replaced the plugs in my classic back in 2008 with denso ones from my local motor factors and they were nearly 100 quid back then
incidentally they are still the same ones in the truck now 9 years later so I guess they were worth it
George, it sounds like you may have bought them on the one day of the year where they didn't have a %off sale by the sounds of it
bit like going to DFS only to find they haven't got a sale on

I've been to euros before and the parts were much dearer than I'd seen online so ended up going back home and ordered them online, then went back in to 'click and collect' them at the lower price as the guy at the counter said he couldn't match the online price. Still got the same parts as they were the ones sat on the counter that he'd just got a price for. So one price for a walk in and another for ordering online, go figure eh ?

To be fair, just bought a set of discs and pads from euro's for the girlfriend's 206 for £36. They were helpful and knew what they were talking about. More to the point we went there and had the parts within 10 minutes or so - you can't do that online.
