Well it's passed the mot today. All seems well except a few niggles. One turbo pipe is leaking air out under boost. Exhaust sometimes rattles where it's real close to the adapter plate. And the gauges need fiddling with but all in all not bad.
It's nice to be back in the truck again.

Still getting used to it. It's definitely quicker. Spends quite a bit of time sideways. It's not fully tuned yet. Still sorting out various teething problems but nothing major. Need to get a boost leak tester as I'm losing some somewhere. It's fun to drive. Sounds awesome with the 3" straight pipe. Makes people look. Might be back in the van tho this week. The garage next door hasn't got round to sorting me out an engineers report yet. My insurance want one to keep it insured. God knows y. It's our fleet policy people. Miserable buggers. Wen I changed the engine and axles in my defender my insurance company never cared. Just wanted to know what engine it was. And they were happier that it stopped better.

Well been driving it a while now. All is running ok. Got some variable resistors to solder in to adjust the rev counter and oil temp gauge. Revs are about 1500 out. Fair bit. And oil temperatures is about 30'c out. Nothing major. Getting slightly better fuel consumption than the 2.8. Turned the pump up the other day. Still no smoke so still plenty of scope. EGT's are still low. Only get to bout 600 on long steep hills when I'm booting it. Turbo is on 22psi in the manifold. 26psi out the turbo so losing 4psi thru the large front intercooler and pipework. Which is very acceptable. Goanna swap out the turbo tho. Prob to the end of this year. Run as is for a bit. Prop a hx30 or 35. Got the boost but not enough air density. Got a slight niggle of the fuel line drawing in some air. Got more to swap it out this weekend tho. It's been a lot of work and prob still some to come. But it's fun to drive. Raped a chav corsa off the traffic lights the other day. Should have seen his face. Made all the work worth it. Just for that.
