You must be thinking of a different engine mate. The 1UZFE engines are so over engineered that they rarely ever get opened up let alone re-conditioned.

Anyhoo, they come to me looking like this....

What Vince said. Reconditioning a 1UZ with like for like parts would be the definition of crazy anyway. They currently retain a very cheap market value so if one did go bang just put another one in. It's cheaper. Unless it went bang because you tuned it to within an inch of its life. In which case a like for like rebuild would be silly and you would want to be fitting forged internals. On that subject a guy on one of the Facebook groups was testing to see how much boost a stock engine could take. It went bang at 25psi. The only thing that went was the head gaskets. He's going to fit upgraded gaskets and bolts and try again.

"LS200" - 1UZ V8, auto tiptronic, super select, Upol Raptor paint. Bigger, faster, louder, brighter.

IUZ is the 4.0 V8, alloy block and heads.
2UZ is the 4.7 V8, iron block alloy VVTi heads. (Can be found in Landcruiser Amazons)
3UZ is the 4.3 V8, alloy block alloy VVTi heads.

Sunderland did ask me if I fancied putting a 3UZ in. But they're more costly to get hold of so I opted against.

1UZ pal. That's the common one for conversions. 1UZ VVTi less common. And I've heard about a few 3UZ conversions but not seen any.

Yeah not a common swap option here as they're in the newer (expensive) LS 430 and SC 430.

Slightly more power and a lot more torque than the 1UZ, but a much heavier engine as it's a cast iron block.
