Yea

Don't know how much the kit costs but it looks good. Cost is mounting now tho. £500 for engine, £230 for 1uz to 2.8 manual box, roughly £200 for intake manifold. And bout £250 for the terminator.
Would be an ace build tho.

Still, you aren't going to get anything else in there cheaper. At least with this one you've managed to solve all the major issues. You see how easy my engine went in. Electronics has been my delay. Yours will be far simpler. Your still roughly in the spectrum of a new 2.8. Or less. And you can sell your 2.8...

Oh and if you really wanted to be different, you could look for a 2UZ (4.7) or 3UZ (4.3) instead. Tend to cost more but can be found cheap enough if you're patient. Just bragging rights really. 4.7 sounds kind of cooler doesn't it. I understand they're the same bolt pattern and external dimensions. If you go for it get on the 1UZ groups. You'll get a lot of interest in it.

Sure did mate. Ive always wanted auto with sequential tiptronic. Plus someone still needs to figure out how to do manual on a 2.5.

What's your road tax going to be like after this??
Does your 1uz run the plugs from a distributer or is it all ecu controlled??

You know what. I have no idea about road tax. Never looked into that. It's a pre 2000 engine though. And that's when tax went up big time for big engines....
The UZ engines do have coils and distributors. But all ECU controlled. Well, mine is. Not sure about the stock ECU.

From all the vids I've been watching that terminater is just a straight swap for standard carbs running standard dizzys. Not seen any yet running ecu controlled dizzys. Think I need to do more researching. I'd like to run an American v8 but you just don't come across em easy. And it's hard for parts.

Best bet would be to see how other people are controlling the spark on carbed 1UZ's. Plenty of people doing it so must be a way. Maybe they covert to an old style dizzy.

Yeah American V8's tend to cost more too. An LS1 will set you back £3k.

In all honesty I would like a diesel v8. I can do diesels all day long. I come unstuck with petrols. Next time I see a gmc 6.5 on eBay I'm having it. Lol

I saw one for sale on facebook for £800 that had come out of a defender 90. Came with an adapter plate to fit a landy auto box though. It got snapped up pretty quick I think. How about a Cummins 6bt? You can run on veg oil then unlike the GMC lump

There's a couple of guys on the dark side wanting to put a Cummins in. Id like to see it done. Personally I would take a Duramax. I've driven my brother in law's 6.0 Duramax in the states. They're fantastic engines.

The truck is done. Ready for collection. Only problem is my Chrones is playing up and I'm not sure I'm going to be well enough to get it Saturday. But it's ready. I'll get up there as soon as I can. Happy days.

Good news about the truck, bad news about the Chrohn's, my mother suffers from it and has been hospitalised several times.

The thought of getting the truck back will pull you through, and hopefully good health follows

Cheers guys. Can't wait to get it. I'll do a full video of it. Close ups of the bumper, light bar, gearbox and mountings, engine, the lot. And the exhaust note. Although the exhaust is nothing great at the moment.

Chrohns - I've had it since 2006. Spent the first 4 years in and out of hospital. Steroids, pain killers, drugs the lot. They wanted to hack away part of my intestine but that didn't sit well with me so I sought other treatment. For the last 6 years I've managed to avoid any drugs at all. I treat it totally naturally and with a careful balance. It's about knowing what you can do and when. What you can eat and when. And how to manage your life. The GP said she's never seen anyone with Chrones manage it as well as I do. I keep her updated but she agrees I'm doing better than they can do for me. I get my down days and weeks but you just have to keep plugging away. The worst part these days is getting a virus or bug from someone. It always goes to my gut which is what's happened now. I try to stay positive. It's not cancer after all.
